This is an annual ceremony to honor the fallen dead who are interred in the cemetery at Ft McClellan. Approximately 3500 German and Italian POWs were interned at Ft McClellan from 1943-1946. I have completed extensive research on this era in history and have a substantial collection and assist anyone in their research.
In fact, I was instrumental in locating the German artist who painted the incredible murals that are on the walls of the Officers' Club. These murals are considered to be the only art of its type in the world. I would be happy to discuss this further if there is interest by any members of your organization.. Thank you.
