Council on International Educational Exchange comes to Tuscaloosa
In June of 2009 AGP member Evelyn Neunzig began working as Local Coordinator for Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) in Tuscaloosa. She is eagerly looking for families who will host a high school student for 10 months starting in August 2009. The students come from all over the world. Neunzig says,” Hosting a student is a wonderful experience and very rewarding. This wonderful relationship can turn out to be a lifelong friendship. When I was 16, my family hosted an American girl for a whole year. She invited me to fly back to the States with her and stay with her family for the summer. That was the beginning of my love for the United States.”
If you are interested in hosting a student, or know someone who is, you may do so via email at Evelyn90@aol.com or via telephone at (205) 886-6941. Host families need to live within a 100 mile radius of Tuscaloosa. School starts in August and time is running short. Neunzig asks for your help in finding a home for these students. She says “please open your homes and your hearts to a young person from another culture.” For more information about the CIEE program please visit their website.
