Mercedes-Benz plant CEO leaving post
Ola Kaellenius, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, is leaving the top post to become managing director of Mercedes-Benz AMG Gmbh in Germany.

Kaellenius’ new position will be effective April 1.

He became the top executive and plant manager for the Vance plant in June 2009. He succeeded Bill Taylor and was head of Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines Ltd. in Brixwort before coming to Tuscaloosa.

Meanwhile, a replacement has not been named for the position in Tuscaloosa.

“The Board of Management has requested that Ola take on a very challenging position within the corporation and we wish him and his family our very best,” said Felyicia Jerald, head of communications for MBUSI. “Although his successor hasn’t been named yet, our strategic vision at MBUSI remains unchanged and we will continue to focus on our core business – building quality vehicles for our customers.”
