New and Expanding German Businesses honored at Alabama Germany Partnership Annual Dinner
New German Businesses in Alabama in 2009: Dedon, established in 2009, with over 2500 employees worldwide Dedon is producer of luxury outdoor furniture. Mr. David Kennedy accepted the award on behalf of Dedon’s Alabama employees.

Expanding German Companies include: Mercedes Benz US International, Inc, established in 1993. In December 2009 Daimler AG also announced that MBUSI will be the future production location for the next generation C-Class scheduled to launch in 2014. ISE Innomotive Systems U.S. Inc., established in 2002. The expansion will create 26 new jobs and the capital investment will total approximately 3.7 million. The expansion reflects two new areas of activity for the company 1) the addition of an in-house metal stamping for existing and new production, and 2) new production of Roll Over Protection System for Volkswagen. Brose Tuscaloosa, Inc., established in 2004. Investment of $4.1 million and creation of 30 jobs to accommodate future production of engine cooling fans for BMW in Spartanburg, South Carolina and seat components for VW in Chattanooga, Tn. Strahle+Hess USA, Inc., established 2004. Additional 20 jobs and investment of $1,000,000. Siemens Energy, Inc., established 1988. Additional 300 employees and investment of $12 million. Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems, LLC, established 2002. Additional 100 employees.
