Dr. Anne-Katrin Gramberg

Anna Gramberg, former Senior Counsel to the President, and former Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University (2005-2013), is a native of Norderney, Germany, who earned a Ph.D. in German with emphasis on Business from Michigan State University, and joined Auburn’s faculty in 1993.  She currently coordinates Auburn’s Diplomatic Program, connecting foreign dignitaries and international business executives with Auburn’s research projects, international programs, and economic development. She has published several articles in referred journals and authored or edited nine books on German language for business and economics.  As Dean, she strengthened the college by implementing Programs for Excellence in Research and Creative work, establishing the Civic Engagement Initiative, supporting and co-organizing sustainability and environmental initiatives, as well as programs in the arts, the languages, Study Abroad, outreach, and fundraising. 

She has served on the board of directors of the Alabama Humanities Foundation and the

Executive Board of the Alabama Germany Partnership,  serving as chair from November 2016 to  November 2018.
