Four Birmingham companies to participate in German trade mission

Three local tech and engineering companies and a local professional services firm are participating in a trade mission to Bavaria through the Alabama Department of Commerce.

They are BLOC Global Group, a professional services firm specializing in corporate real estate and infrastructure project delivery, EV hospitality and coffee company Domestique, industrial engineering and project management services firm Adah International and microgrid company ASHIPA Electric Limited. Huntsville-based Gene Capture is also participating.

“We are constantly working to ensure that all Alabama companies understand the opportunities that exist in foreign markets and that foreign companies understand the opportunities Alabama can offer,” Department of Commerce Office of International Trade Director Christina Stimpson said.

The delegation will make stops in Munich and Augsburg. It will include various meetings and cover trade opportunities, pandemic transition strategies and access to financing. It will be a four-day mission starting Sunday. It is the Department of Commerce’s first mission since September 2019, when a group visited the United Arab Emirates. That’s the same year the state established a business development office in Stuttgart.
