Last surviving member of the White Rose, received the Cross of the Order of Merit First Class on her 100th birthday

Traute Lafrenz Page, the last surviving member of the White Rose, a resistance group against the Nazi regime during the Third Reich, received the Cross of the Order of Merit First Class on her 100th birthday at her home near Charleston, SC today. The Cross of the Order of Merit was handed over by Consul General Dr. Heike Fuller on behalf of the Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
