Joachim started his professional career in 1997 with Mercedes-Benz in Germany and worked there in different functions within the Procurement area.  In 2004 he moved to the US and started working for Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., where he held various management positions in Finance, Supplier Quality and the Logistics area. 

During his time with MBUSI he had already served as a board member of AGP and also served as the Chairman from 2007-2008.  In 2017 he took on his current assignment as CEO of Mercedes-Benz ExTra LLC.  

He and his family live in Hoover and he has a daughter attending Auburn University in her Freshman year and a daughter attending Hoover High School in her Junior year
