Jonathan Schniper has lived in the Birmingham Metro Area most of his life and along with his
wife are raising their family. His focus with Spire over the last 15 years has been in the areas of
Information Technology, Business Development, Customer Retention, Energy Efficiency, and
Economic Development. Currently, Jonathan supports Team Alabama’s Economic
Development activity with efforts of business recruitment, expansion, and retention, focused on
how Spire supports Alabama’s efforts to grow our economy.

His degrees from UAB in both Political Science and Economics, with a focus in Game Theory and American Government, combined with his additional knowledge of how utilities and natural gas companies operate
make him well positioned to support Alabama’s economic growth.

In addition to his career, Jonathan has served on many non-profits and community groups. His
service to his community revolves around making sure that his community’s next generation
have better opportunities to be educated, safe, healthy and have leadership skills as they grow.

Some of his past memberships have been on the Junior Board for Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation, Loaned Executive for United Way, Inaugural Junior Board of the Presbyterian
Home for Children, and Cub Master for BSA. His current memberships are Assistant Scout
Master BSA, Board of Better Basics/Board Development, Birmingham Bowl Executive
Committee/Corporate Development Team, The Alabama Germany Partnership Board and is
part of EDPA’s Allies. In both his professional and civic life, his goal is to see his community
thrive and grow.
