The University of Alabama (UA) is the state’s flagship university.  Founded in 1831 as the state’s first public college, UA is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and service. We provide a creative, nurturing campus environment where our students can become the best individuals possible, learn from the best and brightest faculty, and make a positive difference in the community, the state, and the world.

UA’s Capstone International Center initiates, promotes, and supports international efforts on campus as well as throughout the state and the world. The Center, comprised of Education Abroad, the English Language Institute, and International Student and Scholar Services, coordinates the University’s international endeavors, facilitates the development of a global perspective campus-wide, and supports students, faculty, and staff in learning, teaching, research, service, and global outreach.
