Mercedes-Benz US International resuming production this week

Mercedes-Benz resumed production in Tuscaloosa Monday.

Mercedes-Benz also saw the restart of two of its German plants in Sindelfingen and Bremen. Reuters reports that Germany never banned car production, but factories stopped production after movement restrictions were imposed and car dealerships closed.

Felyicia Jerald, communications manager for Mercedes-Benz, said the Vance factory began with one-shift production, and more employees will be gradually brought in until the factory hopes to resume full production volume. Mercedes also drew on practices at other plants around the world where work has resumed.
